Community Work

Our company has been actively involved and proud to support our local community for the last 72 years, and therefore support is given to a wide variety of worthy causes, large and small in order to enhance the daily lives and prospects for all concerned around the Tamworth area.

Recent contributions have been made to include St Giles Hospice, Tamworth talking Newspaper, Cancer research, Tamworth Football Club, Warton and Polesworth Carnival's along with support to sports teams and individuals, like The Polesworth school under 16 girls rugby team and the talented young golfer Aimee Wilson.

Our Environmental support has seen planting of one hundred native British trees in Wigginton park in memory of the late Freddie Fox, who's conquest to raise of funds for local causes, saw him out daily rain or shine with his dustbin, collecting aluminium cans around the Tamworth area. Since 1994 the value of the aluminium cans placed in our own aluminium can banks located at most of the local supermarkets in Tamworth have continued to be donated to St Giles Hospice.

Our commitment for our customers to reach the holy grail of Zero Waste to Landfill is one of the fundamental objectives that underpins our thoughts and processes here at briers. We have invested heavily in eco-positive technologies so that we can ensure our customers are firmly on the path towards zero landfill and sustainable waste management. Our unique Material Recycling Facility at Amington, Tamworth allows us to capture as much of the recyclable material as possible from the general waste stream, meaning that only the true, non-recyclable element is sent to our partner waste to energy technology plant. Here at briers, we feel this process is 'Best Practice' in sustainable waste management terms and passes on impeccable green credentials to our customers. With doing this gives our customers a guarantee that their non hazardous waste is recycled in some way or another.
